Mapping Procedure

  1. Interview – check observations of progress, problems, MAP comfort, equipment management.
  2. Implant Test – impedance check.
  3. MAPping Review current MAP
    • check some T-levels and interpolate
    • check all T-levels if MAP parameters changed
    • check C-levels either individually or by sweeping
    • check live MAP
    • install new MAP into Pl if appropriate
    • install second backup programme, either a softer MAP or previous MAP
    • activate sound processing (eg ADRO) if appropriate
    • changeover to ACE if still in SPEAK, if appropriate
  4. Soundfield thresholds – check new MAP in the soundfield
  5. ensure MAP parameters eg ACE / ADRO / sensitivity level are noted on record sheet.
  6. Speech Perception Tests – evaluate speech perception progress according to SCIP protocol at appropriate juncture.
