John Nelson, a double amputee, rode the length of the New Zealand to help raise funds and awareness for Cochlear Implants in New Zealand. This is not the first time that Mr Nelson has completed an epic journey fundraising. Eighteen months after contracting meningococcal septicemia he cycled from Darwin to Bairnsdale and then 2 years later he rode from Mt Isa to Bairnsdale altogether raising a total $85000.00. Here in New Zealand Mr Nelson was assisted by the Hornby Rotary Club and visited many Rotary Clubs on his travels.

The money raised will go towards much needed resources for the Cochlear Implant Programme in new Zealand.
